Project Manager
Emina Yessekeyeva is a Project Manager and Research Assistant at NURCE. She is responsible for organizing and directing several projects at the center among which is the organization of the conferences, master-trainings for women entrepreneurs, publication of the books etc. In addition to her commitments at the center, Emina is also a PhD candidate at the Radboud University (Netherlands). Her doctoral research revolves around the realms of material religion, cultural anthropology and visual studies. The focal point of her research lies in analysing the concept of “dynamic religion” in the artworks produced by contemporary artists in a rapidly changing post-Soviet society. She focuses on understanding the intricate relationship between art and the spiritual aspects of life, examining how religion is envisioned and portrayed in the creative expressions of Kazakhstani practicing artists. Besides her main research interests, Emina is engaged in research on creative entrepreneurship. One of her latests studies was devoted to the experimental theater “Art Bunker” in Almaty.
