Uzbekistan trip (Feb 2023)
As part of the CRP grant, our team embarked on a journey across Uzbekistan, visiting Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, Gijduvan, Bukhara, Khiva, and the Ferghana Valley. During this expedition, we collected 31 narratives focusing on how entrepreneurs are leveraging their businesses to revive their identity and culture.
In recent years, there has been a growing global interest in decolonization efforts, sparking discussions on the role of entrepreneurship in facilitating this process. While there is no universal approach to decolonization, entrepreneurship emerges as a potent tool for communities aiming to assert their autonomy and overcome the legacies of colonialism. Through this research initiative, our aim is to explore diverse strategies through which entrepreneurship can contribute to decolonization efforts, thereby offering insights relevant to academics and practitioners engaged in this field.
