Emina Yessekeyeva Explores Contemporary Kazakhstani Art at CESS Conference
At the recent CESS Annual Conference, Emina Yessekeyeva presented her insightful paper titled "The Three Tomorrows in the Contemporary Art of Kazakhstan." This presentation was part of the larger project “BR21882428. The Influence and Perspectives of Islam as a Spiritual, Cultural, Political, and Social Phenomenon in Postnormal Times: The Experience of Central Asian and Middle Eastern Countries.”
Her session focused on the evolving dynamics of contemporary Kazakhstani art, particularly how it is influenced by the shifting perspectives and experiences of Islam under the conditions described as postnormal times (PNT). Yessekeyeva's discussion highlighted the intersection of cultural trends and religious influences, providing a compelling examination of how these elements are depicted in modern art forms within Kazakhstan.
The session also emphasized the importance of dialogue and feedback from the attendees. By engaging with the audience to discuss the theoretical material, Yessekeyeva aimed to deepen the collective understanding of PNT and its broader impact on religious and cultural expressions in Central Asia. This interactive approach helped enrich the discourse and encouraged a more nuanced exploration of the themes presented.
