On October 11th, we had the pleasure of hosting a special Book Launch event that brought together the rich traditions and entrepreneurial spirit of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
📚 We proudly presented two NURCE-authored books:
• “Tamyr Reflections: 33 Narratives of Heritage and Entrepreneurship in Qazaqstan” — This book is structured around 33 narratives, symbolically marking Kazakhstan’s 33rd year of independence. Each story offers a unique perspective on entrepreneurial journeys that blend tradition with modern innovation. From yurt-making and ceramics to digital media and fashion, these cultural custodians are reclaiming Kazakh identity in a rapidly changing world.
• “Roots of Heritage: Honoring Hunarmandchilik Tradition in Uzbekistan. 17 Narratives of Craft Entrepreneurs on Preserving the Nation’s Culture and Tradition” — This heartfelt collection captures the resilience of Uzbek artisans, known as hunarmand, who have preserved their craft traditions despite the challenges of Soviet-era industrialization and globalization. It’s a tribute to the creativity, perseverance, and cultural identity embedded in Uzbekistan’s craft sector.
We were also honored to present “Qazakh Yurt” by Bulbul Kapkyzy. This unique work goes beyond mere visuals to offer a comprehensive guide to the yurt-making process, from selecting the right wood to exploring Qazaq traditions and costumes. Her dedication to capturing these cultural elements continues to inspire and preserve the heritage of Kazakhstan.
The event was alive with the harmonious sounds of the orchestra, the joy of the traditional “shasu”, and moments of heartfelt recognition as participants received ribbons and appreciation certificates.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating these powerful stories of heritage, culture, and entrepreneurship. Your presence and support strengthen our mission to preserve these cherished traditions while embracing innovation.
