NURCE in 2025: A Year of Ethical, Inclusive Entrepreneurship

At the Nazarbayev University Research Centre for Entrepreneurship (NURCE), 2025 was defined less by scale than by intention. Across research, training, and public engagement, the year reflected a clear commitment: to advance entrepreneurship that is ethical, inclusive, and grounded in local realities.
Training the Whole Entrepreneur The continued expansion of the Tolyq Adam training program marked one of the year's most meaningful achievements. Rooted in Abai's philosophy of the holistic human being, the program integrated ethics, sustainability, and purpose with practical entrepreneurial tools. For many participants, it offered a reframing of what responsible leadership can look like.
Strengthening the Ecosystem Through close collaboration with the Association of Business Trainers of Kazakhstan, NURCE helped shape professional standards, convene cross-sector dialogue, and strengthen the national business education ecosystem. These partnerships reinforced entrepreneurship as a shared, collective practice.
Culture as Enterprise: Tamyr Bazaar Tamyr Bazaar 2025 turned the university campus into a space where craft, culture, and commerce met. Bringing together creative entrepreneurs, artists, and communities, the event affirmed that entrepreneurship is also cultural work, rooted in heritage, creativity, and care.
Research with Curiosity Throughout the year, NURCE scholars published widely, presented internationally, and advanced research on ESG, sustainability, gender, and decolonial perspectives. Recognition at major conferences confirmed what the center values most: that locally grounded research can shape global conversations.
