Dr. Atanu Rakshit received his PhD in Economics from Virginia Tech. in 2013. Before joining the Graduate School of Business at Nazarbayev University, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Williams School of Commerce, Politics and Economics at Washington and Lee University. He has more than 20 years of experience consulting and working with international developmental agencies, academia, sovereign wealth funds and public enterprises, apart from his regular teaching and research duties at Nazarbayev university. His current research agenda is closely tied with the NU Entrepreneurship Research Center, especially in the area of technology entrepreneurship and entrepreneur's social network analysis. His previous research spans work on how information and biases affect economic behavior.
