P K V Kishan

Assistant Professor at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat, India.
He is an economist with a doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. His thesis focused on the interrelationships between education and inequality in the backdrop of globalization and intergenerational education mobility in India. Kishan was initially trained as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer from Netaji Subhas University of Technology (formerly NSIT), Delhi. Before joining academics, he worked with Engineers India Limited, New Delhi as a Design Engineer.

Kishan is an early-career academic with experience of three years. His research interests lie in the areas of Economics of Education, Inequality, Entrepreneurship, Personality Psychology and Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Development Economics. He is currently exploring topics ranging from intergenerational mobility in developing countries, long-term impacts of educational interventions, linkages between scarcity and cognitive function in individuals, and the impact of COVID-19 induced disruptions on education stakeholders. Kishan has worked on large-scale survey datasets and applies mixed methods, including experimental and quasi-experimental methods, panel data analysis, and phenomenology, to his research. He has recently secured two competitive research grants from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). His teaching interests include Macroeconomics, Game Theory, Economics of Strategy, Public Finance, Economics of Education, and Causal Inference/Impact Evaluation.
