Alua Nurbay, a NURCE member at The 10th Entrepreneurship as Practice (EAP) Conference at JIBS

Attending the 10th EaP – Entrepreneurship as Practice Conference at Jönköping International Business School was a truly enriching experience. From the moment the program began, it was clear that this event had been thoughtfully curated—blending academic rigor with a warm, collegial atmosphere. The mix of lectures, panel discussions, and local cultural visits created a dynamic and immersive setting for genuine intellectual engagement.

A heartfelt thank you to the Special Issue editors, Neil Aaron Thompson and Richard Tunstall, for fostering such a vibrant and supportive space for scholarly exchange. Their efforts shaped an environment where meaningful conversations flourished, new collaborations took root, and fresh ideas were not only welcomed but actively encouraged.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the conference for me was the opportunity to present our work with Dr. Anjan Ghosh. The feedback I received was both insightful and constructive, sparking new perspectives on our research. It was fascinating to see how scholars across disciplines are theorizing the everyday practices of ordinary entrepreneurs. There is real momentum in this space—a convergence of theoretical depth and practical relevance—and I see tremendous potential for impactful contributions moving forward.

Equally valuable were the informal discussions. The friendliness and openness of the community made every exchange feel authentic and intellectually stimulating. I sincerely hope this marks the beginning of a lasting engagement with the EaP community—there is so much room for collaboration and growth.

On a more personal note, Jönköping itself added to the charm of the experience. The city is picturesque and welcoming, and the local touch woven into the conference program gave everything a unique and memorable character. It’s evident that the organizers invested immense effort into making the event special—and it truly was. Their dedication did not go unnoticed, and I’m deeply grateful for the experience.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business for making this opportunity possible. I gratefully acknowledge the support of the Faculty Development Competitive Research Grant Program (FDCRGP GSB 2023001) 2023–2025 award from Nazarbayev University.
