Tamyr Bazaar: Where Culture, Creativity, and Community Meet

Tamyr Bazaar began as a simple but radical idea: to create a space where culture is not displayed behind glass, but lived, practiced, and shared. By 2025, it had grown into one of the most distinctive cultural and creative platforms at Nazarbayev University, bringing together artisans, artists, students, scholars, and creative entrepreneurs.
Curated and led by Alua Nurbay, PhD student at the Graduate School of Business, Tamyr Bazaar is implemented in collaboration with NURCE.
4th Edition — November 14–17, 2025 The 2025 edition unfolded as a multi-day program. Visitors participated in hands-on masterclasses, cultural sessions, and educational workshops exploring craft, identity, authorship, and sustainability in the creative economy. The Bazaar also included QazaqArt: School of Creative Entrepreneurship, where participants discussed intellectual property, motivation, and real challenges faced by creative entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
The event was also integrated into the international academic conference "Voices at the Margins: Rethinking Gender, Labor, and Belonging."
