Research on entrepreneurship, grounded in Central Asia
NURCE is committed to rigorous research on entrepreneurship, sustainability, inclusion and decolonial perspectives — grounded in Central Asia and in dialogue with global debates. Founded in 2022 within the Graduate School of Business at Nazarbayev University, the centre has grown through publications, research projects, doctoral training, collaborations and policy engagement.

NURCE is founded

The centre is established within the Graduate School of Business at Nazarbayev University.
Mission
A leading centre of research excellence in entrepreneurship
NURCE aspires to become a leading centre of research excellence in the field of entrepreneurship, working at the intersection of theory, policy and practice.
Our goals
In keeping with the reputation of NU and GSB, NURCE works towards four objectives.
  • Global reputation
    Develop a global reputation in research of high academic and intellectual value, with clear applicability to practitioners and policymakers.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration
    Facilitate interdisciplinary research collaborations among faculty at NU and other CIS and international universities in the field of entrepreneurship.
  • Demonstrated impact
    Produce and share knowledge that advances transformative social value through entrepreneurship.
  • Open Knowledge Network
    Become a network open to members, partners and co-researchers who share our values — locally, nationally and internationally.
