About Tolyq Adam
Tolyq Adam is an entrepreneurship training program developed by the Nazarbayev University Research Centre for Entrepreneurship (NURCE). Inspired by the philosophy of Abai Kunanbay, the program looks beyond profit and asks a bigger question: How can entrepreneurs build businesses that are responsible, resilient, and made to last?

At the heart of the program is Abai’s idea of the whole human being — bringing together Aqyl (reason), Qairat (will), and Zhurek (heart). In business, this means making thoughtful decisions, having the determination to act, and taking responsibility for how those decisions affect others.
Business education built on Abai's idea of the whole person.
Participants explore how ESG, ethical leadership, sustainability, and responsible entrepreneurship become practical parts of running a business — connecting modern principles with ideas already rooted in Qazaq philosophy and culture.

Rather than lectures, the training runs on business simulations, team challenges, and personal reflection.

Voices: what participants took with them:
Trust and support
Today, Abai’s philosophy has ceased to be school theory for me. Thanks to the in-depth and practical approach of the experts - Aigerim Tarbagatayeva, Zhanar Kulzhanova, Alua Nurbay, and Shakhzada Shogelbayeva - I saw it as a clear guide to ethical, conscious, and sustainable business. I am leaving the training with concrete steps that I am ready to implement starting tomorrow.
Asel Bazarbayeva
Training Participant from Astana
This training was more than just learning for me — it reminded me of who we are at our core. We often look abroad for business models, while the wisdom of how to build a business with soul and care for people and society has always been part of our culture, our land, and Abai’s words. We simply lost sight of it in the rush of everyday life. Now I will approach both my business and my life differently.

Training Participant from Almaty
The program gave me a feeling of returning to my roots. Working with Abai’s philosophy, I realized how important it is to build a business with heart, care for people, and concern for the future. Here, we were not only taught practical tools, but also given a space for genuine exchange of experience and friendship.
