From Creation to Celebration: NURCE’s new book on Strength in CONSTRAINT

While Tamyr Reflections finds its way to its heroes, Emine Yessekeyeva, Indira Alibayeva, and Nurlykhan Aljan have worked tirelessly finalizing another remarkable publication: Women Entrepreneurs in Male Sector Spheres.

This is more than a study, it is a compelling collection of stories that celebrate resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of the human spirit. The book shines a spotlight on women who have broken barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields, showcasing their journeys of overcoming challenges, implementing groundbreaking ideas, and building thriving businesses.

Behind the Book

The journey to create this book was as impactful as the stories it tells. Beginning with the most male-dominated industries, the research expanded to include leaders in finance, IT, and other sectors. As Professor Yousafzai explained, “Our goal was to redefine what it means to lead in male-dominated spaces and showcase the resilience of women who thrive in these environments.”
The book’s narratives capture women’s resilience and innovation, from a shoe factory owner crafting orthopedic footwear to a communications expert bridging male-dominated industries with strategic finesse.
Following the event, the women featured in the book continued the conversation on social media, sharing their personal journeys and celebrating this momentous achievement.
"I feel so overwhelmed with emotion that it brings me to tears—not tears of sadness, but of gratitude for being born a woman and of pride for the hard work and dedication that brought me here."
"My mother was an extraordinary woman—fluent in five languages, wise, diplomatic, and deeply intellectual. In today’s world, she could have easily been a member of parliament. She was admired, respected, and even envied. She inspired me, and now it’s my turn to inspire my daughter."
