International Conference — Entrepreneurship, Heritage & Sustainability (Sept 2025, with Humboldt University)

International Conference: Entrepreneurship, Heritage, and Sustainability

In September 2025, Nazarbayev University hosted the international conference "Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Sustainability: Exploring the Nexus of Economy, Culture and Applied Research" as part of President Waqar Ahmed's 15th Anniversary Initiative.
Organized in collaboration with Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), the conference brought together academics, practitioners, policymakers, and cultural leaders to explore how economic activity, cultural heritage, and sustainability intersect in contemporary societies.
Over three days, participants built a dialogue around sustainability:
  • Day 1 focused on entrepreneurship — digital innovation, green ventures, and grassroots initiatives, grounded in the lived realities of founders and ecosystem builders.
  • Day 2 turned to heritage, examining culture as a site of memory, identity, and creative resistance — from food traditions to artistic revival in postcolonial contexts.
  • Day 3 centered on sustainability, connecting applied research to regional challenges including climate adaptation, energy transition, food security, and inclusive green development across Central Asia.
The conference reflected on past achievements and pointed toward a future where entrepreneurship, heritage, and sustainability are understood as interconnected foundations of an inclusive and resilient society.
